When I was a kid we used to pull the stamens out of these and suck on them. Anybody else used to do that?

YES!!!! Everytime I see those or smell them, it takes me right back to my childhood. I think if I ever had a garden/forest or whatever it is you need to grow those, they would definitely be in there.

We had a bunch growing down at the far end of our long back yard, by the woods. It was a secret little joy of mine, a tiny sip or two of nectar that no one else could share.

Well, set the way-back machine for 30 years ago! I used to love that. And I still love the smell of honeysuckle to this day.
