Aren't sandwiches just the best food ever? That might make Scanwiches the best website ever. People scan their sandwich and share what's on it. I've got at least a dozen recipes I want to try now.

5 Things Hollywood Thinks Computers Can Do
"Has your mom ever called in a panic, saying the computer was displaying a weird error message and that she hurried and unplugged it just to be safe--and then dunked it in the bathtub so it wouldn't burn the house down? It makes you realize that, to some people, a computer is still a terrifying box of mysteries. Well, we think Hollywood writers have those people in mind when they portray laptop computers doing everything short of blowing up the moon."

Painter of Crap
I once was almost asked to leave a Thomas Kinkade gallery that I'd been dragged in to when I referred to the artist as "The Painter of Crap," so naturally this story made me smile.

Turns Out, Yes, Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This

I admit to having had some grave doubts about my plans for last night: as part of my mom’s Christmas present, I bought us tickets to see Reba McEntire & Kelly Clarkson at Tulsa’s Mabee Center. I wasn’t going to do it, actually, but managed to score 9th row seats through Ticketmaster and thought, ah, well, what the hell.

Now, a disclaimer: I like Kelly Clarkson. My uncle was Reba’s chiropractor when she lived in Oklahoma, so I’ve seen her more times than I even really remember. But I’d given up on this type of music for so long that I was sort of just expecting to spend the concert cheering politely.

So when the lights came up and I heard the first line of Patsy Cline’s "Sweet Dreams" from behind the curtain, I cheered, like you’re sposeda. Then, the next moment, this happened, and I was all in, for the entire rest of the show:

Though I have to say, for me, the highlight was when they did Patty Griffin’s "Up To The Mountain (MLK Song)", because, well, because I freaking love Patty Griffin almost more than life itself. All I’m saying really is that I’d take a bullet for her. That’s all I’m really saying.

UPDATE: After much wrangling, I managed to get the video of the MLK Song into YouTube (Vimeo wouldn’t take it for some reason). So here you go:

When Kelly canceled her tour last summer, I was really hoping she would scale down and do a smaller club tour. Consider me jealous…

It was nice that this was in the Mabee Center, which is smaller than your average arena. Combined with our seats on the 9th row, the whole affair felt pretty intimate.

Considering what I was expecting, the whole thing turned out to be pretty great.
