Dreaming of Warmer Times
What would you do if it was suddenly summer?
I’d order this Cuisinart ice cream maker from Amazon. I’d make a blackberry cobbler or a peach pie, and I’d throw some shish kebabs and steaks on the grill. I’d mix up a pitcher of gin fizz and invite you over. We could toast our brand-new tax rebate checks.
Instead, it’s so cold outside today that on the way in to work this morning I was in a whole lot of pain. I like winter, but once January comes in with its mean, brutal brand of cold, with no cheery holiday soundtrack to make it seem festive, I’m over it. All I can do to keep warm is take scalding hot baths, and even though they’re the only thing that make me feel warm, they leave my skin dry and itchy.
The good news about winter is that it’s a wonderful time to cocoon, to transform, to make plans. Even as the ground is freezing the roots are in there, teeming with life, waiting to burst out again. I think that this evening, if I get out of work in time, I’m going to hit the gym.
In the meantime, think about what flavor ice cream you want.

I HATE winter. Hate it, Hate it, Hate it. If it was summer, I’d probably strip as much as possible, and sunbathe.
This tax rebate this is probably the nicest thing the Bush Administration has done in 8 years. He’s just trying to bring his opinion rating back up, IMO.
And, I’d like strawberry ice cream please.

Also, yay for the tax rebate; I’m going to preemptively use mine to buy a new digital SLR. That’s right - I’m TOTALLY BLOWING IT ALL RIGHT AWAY.
Bush’s ratings are going nowhere. I agree that he’s just trying to get people to like him again, but you know what I love? All the press coverage of the tax cuts have pictures of Nancy Pelosi all over them, and Bush is nowhere to be seen. Haw haw!

I’ll just take the money…car payment here we come!!!! Man, that sucks. I’m old enough that when I get money it goes straight to paying off debt.
I’m gonna need some serious Ice cream after that little realization….how about butter pecan, or a good chocolate…mmmmmmm

We have this ice cream maker. My advice is to get at least two of the containers you keep in the freezer. Three is probably better. If you have ‘big eaters’ in your home (and I have teenagers, the king and queen of big eating) one container is too small for 3 servings.
Peach ice cream is AWESOME. That’s my summer favorite.
