Got really into what I was listening to and forgot to tell the iPod that I’d stopped running and started stretching. Hence the dropoff @ the end.

3 October 2007, 6:17 p.m.

Distance: 5.13 km (3.19 mi)

Time: 38:20 (minus a bunch for forgetting to turn the thing off.)

Pace: 7:27 min/km

Calories: 434

This one was a lot slower, as I’ve had some problems with major, major soreness on the insides of my lower legs, just below the calf, about 1-2 inches above the ankle. I asked the trainer at the gym about it, and he proposed 3 things to do:

1) Get new shoes (done and done; just waitin’ for ‘em to show up from China)

2) Ice it. Get used to it. Running hurts sometimes. Try Ibuprofen.

3) He gave me some new stretches to add to my normal stretching routine.

This happened again this morning; I got on the treadmill and got about 1.4 miles before the pain was too much. I was worried it was shin splints, but both the trainer and WebMD assure me that it’s not. Looking forward to my new shoes coming, though. Looking damn forward.
