I'm not sure how much I agree with James Carse's point here; if pressed I'd probably say I buy a "soft" reading of it, but it did give me a lot to think about, and I plan to read his book once I've whittled down my reading list a bit.
Wake was a really preppy place, and this was in 2000, when the whole 90’s khakis thing was dying a long, slow, much-awaited death.
And here comes Nate, with long hair, cutoff shorts, coming off 2 months in Ireland to spend time with these Wake Forest preppy Greek system people. Yeah, I fit right on in.
They turned out to be nice enough, for the most part; it’s quite a story. I’ll have to tell it on the blog sometime.
