[...] Brian sent me this. Self-hatred, revisionist history and overly dramatic attempts at heterosexuality were a part of my life for so long that I recognize the signs.
Thank you so much for posting this story here. I find your honesty and courage and desire to be an authenticly gay Christian both admirable and incredibly encouraging.
I first found your work on GCN, but then stumbled upon this blog, and after reading all of it, I'm really amazed that our paths never crossed. Not only did I grow up in Winston and go to Redeemer, but I've also become friends with many of your friends from college since I moved to Atlanta (Tish, Woody, Summer). Small world, huh?

Thank for this touching and honest story. For me it was meeting people like you that helped me to see the light. I was afraid to "come out of the closet" and say that I wanted to accept homosexual Christians with no strings attached. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to be a pastor anywhere.

But meeting good men and women and hearing their stories, well it just melted my heart.

I would be proud to "do church" with you. I hope I would be worthy of your friendship.

A brother in Christ,
